I don't expect this thread to last long, but I really have to get this off my chest.

Lately, my interest in Futurama has dulled and I havent watched an episode on Adult Swim in quite a few weeks. I've rarely posted in Futurama sections of PEEL and have lost interest in my once favorite TV show.

But last night, at 11pm I got off of work early and was able to watch the first Xmas episode of Futurama. Sitting there on the couch, I suddenly felt my interest being renewed and I couldnt help laughing out loud a few times during the episode. I felt liberated and rejuvinated and I found it an absolute pleasure to watch that show.

And that's what I want it to be remembered for. A show that made people happy. And I feel that some people on this board have lost their way too. And I hope they can have a wonderful experience similar to mine.

So all I have to say is, Thank you Futurama.

Thank you for making me feel happy.

Amen, brutha!

Also, the quality of that episode surely had a lot to do with it. The fact they're playing S2 now, and not as many random S3 and S4 eps on repeat helps.

I can see what you mean about losing interest. Every day I come to this forum and even though I generally avoid the Futurama related forums, it's still the fact that I post here that seems to have accelerated my boredom with the show. Every time I watch it, I get some laughs, but I still feel kind of stupid.

I know what you mean, I felt great after watching 'Xmas story' again on dvd after forgetting if I'd seen it or not.

The song at the end is futurama's best  :D, I remember rewinding and replaying it loads of times.

I was losing my interest in Futurama as well, so I took your advice and watched Xmas Story. When I realised I haven't seen this one for a while my interest was restored!! :D

I kinda lost interest in Futurama as well, then I watched Tale of two Santas on dvd and I laughed, remembering all the jokes I once use to quote. Thanks Futurama for getting me through those tough days!

It seems to be the episodes with the robot santa in them, that restores our interest. Hmmm...

Well, I've got to give my thanks to Futurama as well.  Although some of the charm that it had when it was new to me has worn off, I still see a lot in it, and notice new jokes all the time.

Alas, I missed "An Xmas Story" last night because I had a fire call ... I'll have to throw it in the DVD player ... in fact, I'm gonna go do that right now.

I've been jonesin' for some season three eps, too (especially LotF, TDTESS, etc).  I'm gonna wait until they come on Adult Swim again, though.

Oh, it's making people happy!  It's the magical show, from Happyland, in a gumdrop house on Lollipop Lane!

But MY episode was Tale of two Santas, not X-mas Story. BIG difference.  ;)

@Zoo York: Please don't post useless posts. People here get annoyed by that.

I loved Christopher Tying's music at the end scene. The music when the Robot Santa was in Planet Express was classic. When I took my 3 day break from Futurama, and watched "Luck of The Fryrish" after I broke down (on the 3rd day), my interest was also restored.

Xmas Story, eh? Guess I'll have to watch it again. The guilty truth is that I too have stopped watching our beloved show on a regular basis. Time to get that spark back.

I know the feeling. I don't think I've watched an actual episode of futurama in a few weeks. I guess that they just don't give me the same happy, excited feeling when I watch them. Oh how I wish that I still hadn't seen all the episodes...

I  disagree. S2 has not much of depth. But Xmas story is definitely one of itīs better episodes an one of the most memorable in series.

I've been watching Futurama like crazy lately, and I was actually thinking of making a post like this, but I thought it would be too corny and everyone would just laugh.

Anyway, Futurama has really helped me get through tough times. I saw a movie that really scared me, and the only way I cold get to sleep was to stick in a season 4 DVD and set it on "play all" to put me to sleep. Worked like a charm, I had to do it for about a week...

When I'm depressed or alone, I always watch Futurama, and it always cheers me up. I know this is just lame, but I feel like I really KNOW the characters, and it just makes me feel so much calmer and happier watching them.

I know, stupid post, but whatever.

I do that too, when I'm really angry at life. I can just watch futurama, and it's refreshing to be part of a world where everything is completely predictable, and everyone always ends up happy and content by the end of the episode. Come to think of it, it's almost like an addictive drug...

I don't watch it on Adult Swim anyway, because the DVD quality is so much better, and there's not commercials. But I don't watch Futurama much, because you can't watch something everyday and expect to not get bored after a while. (well me at least) I've been watching other DVDs, and I'll start watching Futurama more in a while. That's not to say I don't watch a few minutes here and there, and I watch it on car trips, but I don't just decide randomly to go watch it.
