Either for a nightlight, or just to have some noise to get to sleep by?  I had some pretty bothersome tinnitus a while back, and got into the habit of playing them one after the other as I drifted off (glad to see the third and fourth seasons gave me the "Play All" option so I wouldn't have to keep having to start new episodes every 22 minutes or so).

mhh.. yea kind of.

I didn't use my DVDs (at this time I didn't own them) but I had Futurama or Family Guy running on a Winamp-stream to get into sleep.

Well I do fall asleep to Adult Swim usually. But that's after all the good stuff is on.

Anime has a habit of boring me into a deep sleep.

^Hell yeah. I don't use my DVD's to sleep. I feel as if that would be an insult to Futurama, that they're boring now. They're still good for me. But I have drifted off a few times when watching them, only because I was really sleepy before. But I'm glad to say that I woke up after a few seconds of drifting off.
