Thought I would bump this thread as recent rumours are pushing us towards letter writing.

As a question - I know N-O-R still sends the anchovies in, and was wondering if you just put postage stamps, or go to the post office.  If you just throw on stamps, how many for what weight?

One tin of anchovies comes to roughly three stamps.

And if you add oversea shipping to that?

I think it is easier for you to find out yourself than for him to find out for you, since postage rate differs from country to country.

Mint: Actually, that was more of a joke. It would be unreasonably expensive to send anchovies to Fox from Europe. But what a nice smell they would accumulate...

You have money in Europe?  I thought the government just gave you a free, crappy version of whatever you needed.

:laff: Yeah, but there are lots of fans out there who likes a programme or a star enough to do crazy things! You never know!

Enough wackiness. Where did you submit it to? CGEF? Because I don't think they're particulary focusing on fics and fanart. Submit it again to TLZ and they'll show it. I'll read it   :D Or you can just send it my way right away. I'm in desperate need of a shippy fic right now. (That or chocolate.)

Sorry I didn't quote this earlier. My bad.  :hmpf: Unfortunately, the PC that I typed it on died, but now I have a Mac. Yay! The Futurama-sponsored computer! *cheesy wink* (But you can probably get a better shippiness fix from some other fanfic, anyway. Like I said earlier, suspense is more my thing.)

Anywho, to business. With the increasing rumors of the DVD movies coming up more and more, our battle for recognition from Fox may finally be over. *cue tentative sigh of relief* The question is: Are we to stop sending in our anchovies now? I mean, at this point, DVD sales and ratings may be the final straw for Futurama to return, and our anchovies might just become an annoyance. So...reactions? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? (Heheh, sorry. Couldn't resist.) ^_^

Keep sending them in! Just because they've gotten sick of eating anchovies every month doesn't mean to stop. Pretty soon, the dumps will get mad for cats chasing after the dumptrucks, and then they'll join in for our cause. They won't let the anchovies get to the dump, so Fox'll have to go to the recycling place. Too bad for them, since they don't accept anchovies at the recycling centers. So now they're forced to bring back Futurama or have leftover anchovie sandwiches for months. [Evil laugh]

You could continue. It doesn't really matter. It may be good to continue to show that you're still as big of a fan of the show that you've always been. Who knows, they may just be doing all this rumors just to get the anchovies to stop.

Also, more words of wisedom from Pasty. It seems every post IDIOTSVILLE makes he becomes more spammy and you become more wise.

I can't imagine that they'd spread false rumors just to get the anchovies to stop. I mean, they probably have people doing gimmicks like this all the time. And also, we've heard about this from voice actors and other people who worked on the show, and I know they wouldn't make it up. Especially for anchovies. I believe they were probably as bitter as we were when Fox cancelled the show, and I'd guess that they'd be happy that we're trying to make an effort on our own to get the network to bring it back. So, answering my own previous question, I guess we should continue sending in da fish. I just hope Fox finally gets the message.

Heavens to Betsy, i_c! You're a Liquid Emperor?! O_< I remember when you were just a Poppler...  :nono:
Anyway, do you really think they'd use our anchovies? I mean, I know I wouldn't eat something sent in by bitter fans if I worked for the company that cancelled their favorite show. Not that we'd poison them or anything...

Eh, maybe they use them, and maybe they don't. But either way, I still think we should send them in, especially since the the whole "direct to DVD movie" thing started. Besides, if we did poison them, that would not be in our favor.  :p

That's exactly the reason why we should double our "gift" to two tins of anchovies. I may even go for three next time!

Don't know if anyone brought this up yet. Haven't read through all the posts. But I've noticed a few people having problems getting anchovies so why not someone make a slurm label and just stick it on a can of coke or something. They could make up great stuff for ingrediants. 1% Sodium benzoate 99% worm poop. If this has been suggested already. sorry.

Because anchoives is what we've done for centuries about a year and we aren't changing it know when we're so close.

Yeah, Slurmer, what i_c_ said. I mean, anchovies sort of scream, "We're not gonna take it anymore!", where as soda screams, "Here, have a drink!" The former is probably the more intimidating of the two. ( ;))

Also, welcome to PEEL! You might find this useful. It's the PEELers FAQ, and it answers virtually every question you could have about PEEL. Some assembly may be required.

I'll stick  with what i_c said on this one, it just speaks for itself, man and Fox won't get the idea if all the sudden they get something different, they might think it's for something else. I say, keep the anchovies!

Besides, if we sent in soda, it'd get all shaken up in the mail. Then when they opened it, it could explode in their face, which could make them think it was a prank or something. And we DEFINITELY don't want that. Best to stick with anchovies.

It is a recent tradition, only a year old, but it is a tradition none the less.

Sorry, that was completey pointless... uh...

Power to the people!!!!!!

Okay, I will ask a question as well so this isn't pure concentrated spam.
If these direct to DVD movies go through, will you stop sending in anchovies? Or will you all continue sending them in with letters that say "We still want episodes" ... or something along those lines.

Let's count our blessings. The movie(s) may be the best we get. Continuing to pester them might just piss them off. However, if the movies do well enough...who knows what could happen? Money speaks louder than anchovies.

Okay, too many things are contradicting, here. I'm still in the top of another campaign and I'm doing it's website, but I agree with you too much. I mean, if these movies actually make it through I bet there would be a reasonable amount bought.

But guessing from if or will they make it, to if or will they have good sellings seems so risky. I'm still tempted to keep working on this, yet I don't want to throw them off an already unsteady edge.

*sigh* It's impossible to find a sure thing anymore.   :nono:

It's from the Simpsons.
