Put lables on them and send them to FOX.  It's the lable that's really important.

I can see it now...

A panicked Fox mail room guy cries out: "What? Angry Norweigin Anchovies? Oh no! Red alert!"

Dudes in riot gear toting weapons of mass perferation come stomping in, as the terrified mail room guy toss the offending can to the floor and leaps behind a pile of letters labelled "Cookies for Rupert." The dudes surround the can, while one of the more courageous men cautiously approaches the can. Slowly bringing out his standard issue riot can-opener, he slices the lid open, and peeks inside...

The silence of a Scottish moor falls upon the mail room. No even a breath is heard. Then, suddenly:

'It's alright! They aren't anchovies... they're sardines!"

An immense sigh of relief comes rushing out of the assembly, tipping over a few mail trolleys. The riot guys begin to file out. The more courageous one pulls the mail room guy out from behind his hiding place.

"Thanks for the quick response, guys. You can never be too careful"

"No problem. In any case,  we applaud your caution. One of these days it WILL be anchovies."

The riot guy gives a friendly wink, then rushes off to join his fellows. The mail worker watches him go, and the smallest sound escapes from his mouth: "I love you too, Clive."

Gwan's internet is down, so he's making me bump this thread to remind you all that the 25th of October is coming up, so you should start stalking up on anchovies.

I like to procrastinate, so I'll overnight mine on the 24th.  I've had to offer to pay postage for most of my "friends" from school doing this though, so I may reconsider.

Can you imagine that? A room full of FOX workers eating cans upon cans of anchovies sitting on stools around a round table with a can of opened anchovies in one hand, and a fork in the other. That would be a good dinner party wouldn't it?

Americans don't eat anchovies... well except Fry....  Come to think of it, if you just send in 3 year old cans like I'm doing, then they'll get food poisoning and probably die (bonus points!)...

As long as the can is fine, the fish is fine.

If I worked at FOX (which I don't thankfully) and in their mail room. I would hate the day all these Anchovies came in.

Wouldn't the oil or something leak out?
Do anchovies have oil?

Many are packaged with oil, but as long as you get a can that isn't dented or damaged, there shouldn't be a problem.

The idea is that the damage sustained during shipping will make it a nice, greasy, smelly package for FOX to open.

Why has the site not been updated to say the deadline's coming soon? It looks pathetic that the last update is that the site is finished.

I'm still in, and there's no reason we can't launch a second assault AFTER Oct. 25th.

Just how much are anchovies anyway?  If they're not more than $1.50 a can, I'll definitely buy more than one.  It's something to consider, actually:  doubling our efforts could, well, double the results...which may, in fact, be like multiplying zeroes.  Oh well...seeing as how I'm not going to vote for either candidate in the election, I might as well make a gesture that means SOMETHING to me.

Why aren't you voting, LS?  While I'm not going to encourage an uninformed vote, evereyone who can vote should get informed and then vote.  I don't care who you vote for, I'm just sick of the apathy[/rant]

Anyway, KAH brings up a point, and also, do not get pessimistic.  That's why none of our previous protests got noticed (except the first one, which no one noticed becuase it was an online poll.)  NEGATIVE THINKING IS BAD.  Now, I personally don't expect much out of this except a slap on the face to Fox, but by God, am I gonna slap those fascists hard.

N-O-R, I'm not voting for Bush or Kerry.  I may still write in a candidate (right now, it's Randolph Severn Parker III, aka Trey Parker).

And, to keep the thread on-topic, I haven't recruited anybody that I know of, but that's why I'm considering sending more than one can.  Indeed, I could probably get away with sending more than one letter (using pseudonyms, of course).

Would it be better to not put out return adresses on the envelope because they might do something? Or should we definately because without one it would look like a terrorist threat and not get opened/possibly get traced back anyway through the post office?

Definitely put on return addresses.  Otherwise, how do they know it's not just one crazy guy sending them?  And you're also correct in thinking that address-less letters will get extra scrutiny.  Not enough to actually prevent a bioterrorist attack, but just enough to violate our right to privacy.  *sigh* I miss the politics thread already.
