Matt Groening has said that he'd like to do a trilogy of Futurama movies (which isn't to say they'll happen for sure, just that he wants to do them).  That's what he's referring to.

I think the best episodes to me had a good mix of humor and emotions. In the last season you could see that they are running out of jokes but episodes with emotions or background (Jurrasic Bark, The Sting, The Why of Fry, The devil's hands..ect) were still great. So they should rather do more eps with drama or sth instead of concentrating to gag-heavy eps.

More action

More comedy

More drama

More sci-fi movies parodied, like LOTRs, Attack of the Clones, and others that Futurama never got a chance to get around to.

How about just more Futurama first. Seriously though I think if the show came back I would just want it to be as good as it was when went off the air. It has to have great comedy and stories.

I'd probably rate more comedy.  I think Groening and Cohen "foresaw" the cancellation and wanted to get all the more serious eps out.  Even in the commentary "The Why of Fry", he said that they wanted to extend things out, but anyway...

But seriously, that does explain alot. But I actually enjoyed the last season. It's probably my favorite one.

Maybe Gandalf can beat up some Fox executives with his staff too.

Season 4's got some pretty good ones though.

What?!  :p

But I agree. A flashback type episode focusing on past crews would be great. More character development too, and well, blahblah, insert bleeding obvious shipper stuff here that closeted shipper doesn't wanna say, blah.

MORE.  ZAPP.  BRANNIGAN.  NEED... LIFE...STORY.  I tried to create a life story but failed miserably after I lost the time.  *sigh*  Stupid AP classes eat up my time... a backstory of one of the characters would be cool, though, like maybe Kif.  Remember the commentary for "Kif Gets Knocked Up a Notch" and they said that they had a whole episode of him meeting his old friends/family on Amphibios 9?  I seriously think they should have done that.  Also, I think there should be a Zapp-centric episode.  Futurama needs more of the Big Z!

(OK, I'm done rambling.)

Tough one. If I can admit this, seasons 3 and 4--the "less funny, more emotional" seasons (4 to a greater extent than 3)--are actually my two favorite seasons, respectively. I always marvel at how funny yet heartwarming "The Luck of the Fryrish" or "Jurassic Bark" are (for example, the "Boogie Fever" gag in JB always gets a laugh from me). Granted, season 2 may have had more gags, but at the expense of losing what could have been a lot of good emotional episodes ("A Bicyclops Built For Two", while still a great episode, could have delved into Leela's backstory more than it did, or just into her emotions in general) (for the record, I think that "X-Mas Story" is the only episode of the season that really got it everything right). Anyway, that said, I have to say that I would like to see more character development and drama (I guess I'll vote the latter in this poll). I mean, most of what made S3 and 4 the best (IMO) is the masterful character development/drama mixed with the same brand of humor we all expect from Futurama. I mean, you have to admit, even what is probably the shippy episode to end all shippy episodes--"The Sting"--is as jam-packed with humor as most other episodes (great Professor lines, great Bender gags, and Leela going insane is the perfect mixture of humor and drama).

Okay, enough babbling...

I agree with pretty much everything you just said. The drama is towards the end was great(even if it was just a by-product of the producers trying to get all the good stories in at once before the show was cancelled). If they ever made another season, it should continue in that manner.

Yeah, I'm not too sure why most people don't enjoy the drama as much, but I commend the writers for masterfully pulling off drama and humor in one mix. Sure, not everyone's the same, but the more dramatic episodes are some of the best.

I haven't found any episode in Futurama over dramatic which is a good thing. Episodes like "Luck of the Fryish" and "Jurassic Bark" are some the best episodes of the series.

I was wondering when someone would vote that. Althought it is already very adequate in the show and several levels beyond that in the comics...

One other little thing that might have been a neat extra:  Alien Language 3 - even trickier math!  AL2 was neat due to how the math works with it.

I saw one site that said Leela's bracelet has an AL3 on it, but I'm sure that's false.

I think he means like full frontal nudity that isn't obscurred at all.

No, I don't think they're going to do that.

And why do you want to see ALL of them naked?

Reading all these threads about new episodes is somehow strange.
I vote for 'more comedy', meaning more comedy than in the last few episodes. I'd want the style of the earlier/middle seasons plus some slowly developing backround stories (and finishing the ones that have already started).

I would like to see the characters backgrounds more, too. The only ones they have really shown backgrounds to are Fry and Leela. (Also a tiny bit of Hermes)

I suppose they showed a little bit of what the character was like when they were young in 'Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles' but that's about it...

We don't really know anything about Bender's past...well I'm not really sure if he would have a past because he is only 4 years old,but oh well.

I would like to see more of the tear jerker episodes like Luck of the fryish and Jurassic bark, I don't know if any one thinks this episode is sad, but how about Bendless Love. I love the waty futurama makes sad episodes because they are sad and funny all at once it is a very good combonation.

I would like to more new Futurama episodes!  Plus, see Zapp leave Leela alone and go after Michelle and Fry's chubbyness turning out to be a coverup all along and Bender making fun of him about it.  I would like to see Kiff's and Amy's relationship go ahead more, and Fry and Leela getting together and maybe a girlfriend for Bender as well.   More fun, and intriging adventures for the Planet Express crew in more new episodes to come.
